The Big Deal, Presented by Nuveen, 32nd Annual FCS Portfolio Award
Before arriving at FOS, I had experience designing for social, but YouTube is it’s own beast. It’s an ecosystem with its own specialities and design language and equal parts data science, audience insights, and design. It also has been a ranging challenge as we develop evergreen templates for our recurring shows and programming, templates that still feel unique as we capture tons of content from tentpole moments, and also one off videos which allow us the most creative freedom.
Additionally, I have really enjoyed jumping into the analytics world and working with our Multimedia team interpreting trends and stats in real-time. Knowing what performs best allows us to constantly be improving. A/B Testing allows us to produce creative that best serves our content, and a chance to explore different directions and experiment visually Sometimes my favorite thumbnails don’t outperform their counterparts, but the experience of making both is priceless.
